i got an ibook g4, and i ran into your problem when i started my training period. no "guide" would work (most were obsolete, talking about the old input method, and xmodmap). i had to make my own. my experience and solution at : http://www.linux-france.org/macintosh/clavier_gentoo.html it still does not work 100% as you would expect regarding meta/alt mappings, but it does all {} [] | like on a mac :) on emacs, command is "meta", same as esc on pc. works good enough to get work done. i also did the same mapping on the console. enjoy, Julien -- Julien PERVILLE <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
