Add a "me too". I tried a lot of things. Nothing worked properly. Does anybody know about other distributions ? Could be interesting how for example Yellow Dog or Ubuntu handle this problem... Maybe X.org has an improved keyboard-layout ?

you can try the Xmodmap file that Bruno sent me. It works like a charm on KDE for my French keyboard.
I was getting desperate to have a decent keyboard !
I'm attaching the file.
