My solution involves extending dpkg, so that every darned package does not have to deal with this. Now you say we have ``A true Debian system'' that does not have Debian's packaging system? Really? Where is it? As far as I know, the HURD had dpkg. Am I wrong? And since when has a freebsd-sans-dpkg been a true Debian system?
