I know, I've been following the debate. What I am proposing is that Joey should modify debhelper and that we should then recompile all packages. I personally think that a consistent potato is far more significant than the upgrade/downgrade incongruities which will result. And if we want, we can provide a package which will contain one of the symlink-making scripts for those who need the partial upgrade consistency.
