There is an interesting paragraph in the FHS saying: To qualify as partially FHS compliant or partially FHS compatible an implementation must provide a list of all places at which it and the FHS document differ in addition to a brief explanation of the reasoning for this difference. This list shall be provided with the implementation in question, and also made available to the FHS mailing list or the FHS editor.
And Policy 3.1.1 currently says: The location of all installed files and directories must comply fully with the Linux Filesystem Structure (FSSTND). I think we should change this paragraph so that it says "FHS", and start making a list of all places at which Debian and the FHS differ. [ We could then make the /floppy and /cdrom directories one of these "allowed" exceptions ]. Opinions? -- "6373e27284862bbee3a7eed30c0f0b3f" (a truly random sig)
