I don't know if this would be possible, but it would be very impressive if we could (optionally) re-run the appropriate scripts when a value changed.
For instance if "hostname" or "IP-address" changed, we could re-run all the postinst scripts that needed them. Probably too difficult and full of problems, but better to mention it now incase it gets brought up later!
