Adding more people in is fine. >dpkg-perl is a collection of Perl modules to access dpkg's databases. It >can be used in postinst scripts to check for other packages, etc. Okay. I'm not sure why you couldn't do this with dependencies but then again, I'm currently confronted with a problem in less that I can't solve that way, so... >Klee, what do you think about this? 'Course this might also be a problem since people may use dpkg-perl rather than the more static methods that things like dpkg, dselect, dpkg-scanpackages, and deity could use easier. > b) move the modules from dpkg-perl into perl-base The biggest problem that I see here is that dpkg-perl is still "skeletal" according to its description. I'm not sure that perl package releases would fit real well with the dpkg-perl releases. Possibly since dpkg knows that perl-base will be installed, it could include dpkg-perl in its package... > c) make tetex-* predepend on dpkg-perl If it looks like tetex is the only thing that uses it. I'm not sure that this is/should be the case.
