Well, I'm not sure that irony is the best way to handle something that could be considered from different points of view...Anyway...:) My own opinion about this is that enforcing this in the policy would probably open the door for far too much such changes. *However*, Thomas is certainly right in trying to get some consistency there. That topic is far from being as trivial as it seems. Good consistency in user interaction messages is usually a good sign of "professionnalism" which sometimes counts for people who have the power to decide what is to be used and what is not. This is why I tried to bring some input on a similar matter, last year, when writing the so-called "Debconf Templates Style Guide" which is now part of the Developer's Reference. (and, frankly speaking, general consistency in user interaction, especially in English, is not the best quality of Debian....or other Linux distros....) My suggestion is that such guidelines are probably welcome to be included in the Developer's Reference rather than the policy. And, indeed, I'm pretty sure that Scott J. Remnant would consider this enough for changing dpkg behaviour (und turn me mad in handling the consequences on translations....:-)). Thomas, would you consider this acceptable? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
