Phil has stepped into the volunteer role of Debian Mentors triage. He has created a semi-automated process that reviews and responds to each submission to Debain Mentors, providing basic feedback and catching the simple mistakes and problems with package submissions. This makes life simpler for the Debian Developers who come along later once he has marked a package ready for review. This also creates a more encouraging environment for those who are beginning their journey as contributors to Debian. I have found him to be diplomatic and supportive in his interactions with with those who have submitted packaged. His consistency and speed of response has been impressive. I believe his effort reflects the best qualities expected of a Debian Developer.
