This message is regarding post-Lenny issues. libresample is a library audacity uses internally (lib-src/libresample/). It is also availble as an independent tarball from e.g. http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/resample/Free_Resampling_Software.html and included in e.g. Fedora. The package only provides a static library (libresample.la, libresample.h). Dominic Mazzoni wrote libresample because he needed an LGPL resampling library. A while ago the Asterisk project needed a resampling library with a similar license. They needed the library to build PIC, as they use it to link with shared object modules. Hence they slightly patched libresample to build dynamically and now use it: http://svn.digium.com/view/thirdparty?view=rev&revision=3 http://svn.digium.com/svn/thirdparty/libresample/trunk/ If anybody wants I have a proprly automake/libtoolized version of that instead of that hacked Makefile. This libresample is required to build two interesting modules in Asterisk 1.6.0 (but has no effect on the Lenny version 1.4.21) and thus I'd like to get it packaged. How do I move forward with that? BTW: libresample is based on resample "1.7". Debian has resample "1.7-4". Upstream version of resample seems to be 1.8.1 . -- Tzafrir Cohen icq#16849755 jabber:tzafrir.co...@xorcom.com +972-50-7952406 mailto:tzafrir.co...@xorcom.com http://www.xorcom.com iax:gu...@local.xorcom.com/tzafrir -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-multimedia-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
