Please (everyone) stop making this false dilemma. It is based on the false assumption that if action A is not taken (e.g. not inspecting or sponsoring a particular package), goal B will be advanced (getting Lenny out). That's no more true than the assumption that if I don't play Nethack for three hours, that Lenny will somehow be three work-hours closer to release. Yes, releasing Lenny is an important goal; but it's a non sequitur to go from that to assuming that everyone has the option of performing some arbitrary action *or* spending that time on the release of Lenny.
