In the debian/control file add a depends  like so

Package: epace-database
Version: @DEB-VERSION@
Section: base
Priority: optional
Architecture: i386
Depends: epace-support-files ([EMAIL PROTECTED]@), monitoring-client (>=1.0-19),
postgresql (>=7.4)
Maintainer: Jerry Duval <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Description: database package for ePace print management solution
