I just fetched your .tar.gz from the site and noticed there is a debian/ already in it and the changelog is Debian-native. No. Don't package it Debian-native even if you are the upstream. It's not. Another points: 1) libz-dev is only a virtual packge: make that zlib1g-dev | libz-dev or kick that libz-dev shit out in favour of zlib1g-dev... 2) It's not compiled with -g. Compile with -g. 3) it does not support noopt in DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS. Another (minor) point: 4) remove those superfluous comments from debian/rules. Grüße/Regards, René -- .''`.
