oooh cool :) ive been wanting to string some macvhines together myself (If I can only convince my girlfriend to let me...as it is she has this strange fear that our apartment that we move into soon will be "decoreated with computers" dunno why she thinks that :) ) > I know a small bit about C coding,, I'm pretty good with hardware now, > I've built machines, repaired them, and my last build from scratch was a > dual pentium system.. > > With this type of background, should I do ok at adopting a simple > package,, or go nuts on something like phosphorous? That depends on how complex phosphoruos is... Since you havn't even seen the phosporous source yet...I would recommend looking at the wnpp and finding what packages you can adopt...have a look at the source and find one..then adopt it. Start with something simple to leanr packaging...the system for packaging is (IMHO) very easy to use but can take a bit to learn the little bits While doing this get the phospherous source...play with it and see if you think you can handle it...then do it anounce your intent and get to work > I am not allowed to work in Australia for another 18 months, so I have > some time, always helps to have free time :) > This breakin does bug me though.. > I've just got done upgrading to 2.0 about 2 weeks ago. If you are worried...do you subscribe to BUGTRAQ? it is a great mailing list...lots of security info and not too high volume (certainly less volume most of the time than debian-user) I would suggest looking into it ...however I don't seem to remember how to subscribe or unsubscribe... check www.netspace.org they have info on how to subscribe -Steve -- /* -- Stephen Carpenter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --- <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>------------ */ E-mail "Bumper Stickers": "A FREE America or a Drug-Free America: You can't have both!"
