Very true, I gave the command line I have in my create new repo text file - now
updated. :-) Debian docs are very bad with these docs and many find it hard
putting docs from here and there to create a correct three branch repo.

For cloning existing repos this is correct. I use the one below as standard as
it avoids issues.

gbp clone --pristine-tar <repo>

I used git for the new empty repo clone as that is the only way to do it.

I may create a wiki page on this and ask for input at a certain stage and see
if we can remove the fog of existing docs that confuses new and sometimes old
contributors. :-)
