Hi, Andreas. Johannes has asked me about 32-bit support for Flexbar.
AFAIK, 32-bit support for tbb would be provided automatically by a tbb dependency of our Debian source package so we just need to enable 32-bit architecture in the control file. I've downloaded the upstream sources of Flexbar 2.34 and will build a new deb locally to try it out. Please advise me and Johannes about using SeqAn 1.4 for the package. Thanks, Tony. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Flexbar 32-bit builds and SeqAn 1.4 Date: Tue, 21 May 2013 10:51:46 +0000 From: Roehr, Johannes <johannes.ro...@mdc-berlin.de> To: Tony Travis <a...@minke.ukfsn.org> Hi Tony, it is still a little bit unclear to me what I should do for Linux 32-bit support that Andreas and you talked of. As far as I understood, you want me to change the CMakeLists.txt file in the src directory of Flexbar to include a part in the conditional that specifies the link directories also in case of linux32 platform. This would imply to include also tbb library files for linux32 in the lib directory. This shouldn't be a problem, but I wonder if I got it right? I do not understand yet why that helps to support linux32 on your side, as I remove this conditional for platform dependant selection of tbb library files anyway for the source release, and as far as I know the tbb library files coming with Flexbar are not used for packaging. What am I missing here? By the way, the new SeqAn 1.4 release is out. I started to test it and so far everything looks good. I observed a strong increase in processing speed with the new library ;) There are still some points to check for me before I target complete inclusion and new binaries. I plan to get it done this week and will pass you a line as soon as it is finished. Once the new release is also available in Debian, one could use the SeqAn 1.4 release instead of the version included in Flexbar.
