Thanks for your reply. I have created a desktop file to show the trash icon
on desktop. I mean that is the way I found it should be done. I need to
check /home/user/.local/Trash/files/. If a file exists in it, the icon will
change to a full trash icon, otherwise it should be changed again to an
empty trash icon.

I have (till now) made a script with a while (true) loop that runs in the
background. This way I have eliminated cron.

Is there another way to do it please?
