assumed that you have the correct grub config, then yes. as far as i
know this works with debian-live images as well (as with any other
bootable iso image).

if you do anything special in order to acchieve that, it would be nice
if you would tell so we can speak about *concrete* things and not
wasting anymore time with speculations. even if that special thing of
yours is not done by live-helper, i'm sure its very easy to add for
future images.
