Then, as you know, Policy contains the instruction: 'When in doubt about a copyright, send mail to debian-legal@lists.debian.org' and Anthony Towns already mentioned: 'both James and Jeroen had extensive contact with Sun to ensure that the tricky clauses were actually okay' so surely there was some doubt? Then lack of mail to debian-legal looks like a policy-related bug, as if sun-java5 wasn't problematic enough.
