This issue has been brought up on debian lists before, iirc. I seem to remember that the ad agency that produced that logo has long since folded (and the company using the logo, elektrostore, said something to the effect of "for all we know, it could be some clipart or font image that Debian just used, didn't invent").
I don't remember what happened after that, anyone care to refresh my memory?
