??? Why? This is not a "root" command. But I've found the solution... fglrx packages (kernel + driver) were "diverting" libGL, implying some unresolved references (using "export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose && glxinfo" to see that). Purging fglrx packets solved the problem. Many thanks
