Suppose /usr/share/doc/pcmciautils/mini-howto.txt.gz doesn't help. > When I load hostap_cs module, "dmesg" shows: > > kernel: pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 0 > kernel: cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: excluding > 0xa0000000-0xa00fffff > kernel: pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia0.0 > kernel: ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL' > kernel: hostap_cs: 0.4.4-kernel (Jouni Malinen <jkmaline at cc.hut.fi > <http://lists.shmoo.com/mailman/listinfo/hostap>>) > > But it might shows (or something similar): This is what it should show? > kernel: pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 0 > kernel: cs: memory probe 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff: excluding > 0xa0000000-0xa00fffff > kernel: pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia0.0 > kernel: ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL' > kernel: hostap_cs: 0.4.4-kernel (Jouni Malinen <jkmaline at cc.hut.fi > <http://lists.shmoo.com/mailman/listinfo/hostap>>) > kernel: hostap_cs: setting Vcc=33 (constant) > kernel: Checking CFTABLE_ENTRY 0x01 (default 0x01) > kernel: IO window settings: cfg->io.nwin=1 dflt.io.nwin=1 > kernel: io->flags = 0x0046, io.base=0x0000, len=64 > kernel: hostap_cs: Registered netdevice wifi0 > kernel: hostap_cs: index 0x01: , irq 5, io 0x0140-0x017f > kernel: prism2_hw_init: initialized in 200 ms > > I have found other people with hostap_cs in Debian and Ubuntu recently: > > http://lists.shmoo.com/pipermail/hostap/2006-October/014433.html I only have a modem card in my socket. When it boots it sometimes comes up assigned to ttyS1 and sometimes ttyS3 (if I remember correctly) and I have to manually change /etc/ppp/peers/provider to the correct setting. Maybe compare the configs, modules, with Suse and see what the differences are?
