Thanks for the tips. I'm getting one step further, but I'm still running into
trouble.
Here are the last messages I have when I insert my cd-rom card.
This one is from /var/log/syslog

I took a close look at the pcmcia-howto, but I can't find out where I can link
this
problem with (to be honest, I didn't though that my first problem was related
to ISA
bus).
Here is also a copy of lsmod:
(none):/etc/init.d# lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
ide-cs 3172 1
ds 6408 2 [ide-cs]
yenta_socket 8640 2
pcmcia_core 35360 0 [ide-cs ds yenta_socket]
input 3232 0 (autoclean)
usb-storage 43160 0 (unused)
scsi_mod 51820 0 [usb-storage]
visor 8492 0 (unused)
usbserial 16444 0 [visor]
slhc 4384 0 (unused)
All the modules look OK, but there is one last thing that doesn't work. I was
able to
make this pcmcia cdrom working under kernel 2.2.X, and It was well detected by
the
kernel used during debian installation.
Thanks to your help, I was able to configure my pcmcia ethernet/modem card. I
hope
to be able to configure also this cdrom drive.
Thanks
