What I did (with a Lattitude CP) was: - make a backup copy of the original XF86config file - generate a new config file with xf86setup - compare both versions and take the best of both If you want I have two working versions (one for the internal lcd display and ps/2 mouse; one for an external monitor and serial mouse) for my laptop which I can send to you.
