Hi, since X from Debian didnt work on my notebook, I decide to go XFree86 4.0 and downloaded from xfree86.org . But I am afraid that the installation will not get registered in the dpkg database. Also the X docu urged users to use Xinstall.sh in the XF86 4.0 package instead of other installation utility like dpkg.
Is there a way to tell dpkg database directly what I have installed afterward? thanks Ben
