I'm still a bit confused about the alternative processors (P4 M / centrino etc), but http://www.sony.com.au/vaio/catalog/product.jsp?id=PCGK76P says it has a "Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.06GHz" I will check out the thinkpad as well.
