10GB sounds very much to me. My laptop has 10GB HD, in the beginning I used 5GB for Win2000 (+Office 2000 Pro) and Linux each. Now I gave Linux 7GB and Windows 3GB (actually Windows space is more or less wasted any way... only use it like once or twice a year). I'd say with 3-5GB for Win2000 (especially without Office) your on the good side, as long as you don't wont to store Multimedia stuff on that parition. > For my belongings, I think Debian Linux would work with 6 GB sufficient. > But can I reduce win to that ? It depends what you want to do with your linux installation. If you want to build mozilla or ooffice from sources you would certainly need more space ;-). hth, Jan -- Jan Lentfer System Administrator Molecular Cell Biology / AG Holstein, Darmstadt University of Technology, Schnittspahnstr. 10, 64287 Darmstadt, Germany Tel: +49 6151 16 5563 / Tel private: +49 6155 899393 / mobile: +49 163 4712037 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
