That seems like the "suspend mode" I was talking about. It seems to
swap out all runing processes and stops the CPU. When the CPU begins
to run again (because I open to case), everything is swapped back in
and all processes continue, just as I left them.
I'm using it all the time when moving from place to place, so yeah, it
works on a Thinkpad 570 with Linux 2.2.16.
