Package: linux-image-2.6.16-1-686-smp Severity: important
I tried this kernel on a server, where your linux-image-2.6.15-1-686-smp works fine. The first thing I noticed was that X did not come up. According to X.org.0.log, there was no /dev/input/mice. Indeed, there was no /dev/input directory at all. This was a bit hard to figure out, for every second all consoles were spammed with: EDAC MC0: CE page 0x1f38a offset 0x0, grain 4096, syndrome 0x16, row1, channel 0, label "": i82875p CE Needless to say, this made it very hard to work. I silenced it by "rmmod i82875p_edac" I have only a vague idea about what edac is. Perhaps this indicates some kind of hardware fault - but if so, no need to spam the console every second. That makes it impossible to look up what the problem is, or anything else for that matter. Just stick it in /var/log/syslog or something. (The page number was mostly 0x1f38a, but occationally different.) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable'), (800, 'stable'), (700, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Helge Hafting -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
