Dear Maintainer,
I've upgraded from Buster to Bullseye and my external drive array using an LSI
SAS2116 chipset (and the mpt3sas driver) stopped detecting all drives. There
were no error messages discernable but in the output of lspci -vv there was now
a missing line about "driver in use". After a bunch of digging I found other
people had mitigated this issue by clamping down the maximum queue depth
configured for the card. Adding the kernel parameter
"mpt3sas.max_queue_depth=10000" made all the drives appear again after a reboot.
Note that this report is tained with ZFS but I also tested with a clean boot
and no dkms-built modules loaded to verify the issue.
