I think we already enabled the necessary options: * [armhf] dsa: Enable drivers for Lamobo R1 (aka BPi-R1): B53, B53_MDIO_DRIVER as modules (Closes: #836231, thanks to Vagrant Cascadian) From the device tree, it seems pretty clear that we do want B53_MDIO_DRIVER and not B53_SPI_DRIVER.
