My atheros based card cannot keep connection to insecure wireless network. I
have to run manually iwconfig wlan0 essid XXXXX mode Managed every minute or
so.
It seems that the disconnection occurs when the is no data flow in the
network, i.e., when I run some download or brows web it remains connected,
however, when I make a pause it drops the connection.
The problem does not manifest itself in a secure connection, this is
probably occur due to constant data flow in the connection: it seems that
the card repeatedly authenticate itself (see log file, which is overflowed
with "authenticated" messages.)
