Thanks for the pointer. I found a good answer in

The default Plasma install uses sddm-theme-debian-breeze which correctly 
detects this condition and won’t show the virtual keyboard without a reason.

I’ll probably move the dependency on qt6-virtualkeyboard-plugin from sddm 
itself to the greeter themes that correctly supports touch detection since 
enough people are seeing this, but it would be better if all greeter themes or 
SDDM itself fix the issue.

For people being bothered by the issue and not needing the virtual keyboard 
you can already uninstall the qt6-virtualkeyboard-plugin and be done.


I would also add this one to https://wiki.debian.org/Plasma%206 if nobody 
objects.
