I understand that. But I want to make sure that my three points are understood: 1) An unbootable computer is not a "testing" system. It's an "unstable" system. The update that broke KDE was foreseeable and avoidable. 2) The point of learning is not to keep repeating the same mistakes. Hence why I'm asking if we've learnt anything that we can apply in the future 3) I'm not expecting perfection from Debian volunteers. I'm hoping for improvement in making regressive updates less common Open source projects are always looking for feedback, so I'm giving my feedback by identifying a weakness that could use improvement. This reminds me of the car salesmen sketch in John Cleese's How to Irritate People "If you have any trouble, bring it in, I'll take a look at it" "Well I have had trouble and I have brought it in" "No, no trouble at all. Never need trouble. But if you have trouble, I'll take a look at it."
