Don't take this off the list, as there may be other people also interested in the thread. And no need to copy me directly in replies as I am subscribed. How about answering the question that I asked - ie what are the permissions on the files and the ~/Mail directory. The error message that you quoted in an earlier message in this thread said that you didn't have sufficient permissions to do the operation (kmail automatically indexes the file).
