Hi Juan, Thanks for the information and links!
I've requested access to Debian Java on Salsa, since the majority of these are
within that team. I'm already a member of Debian JavaScript, so that ITP is
doable as-is. Here's what I'll do in this case...
We have a week until this stack gets autoremoved. That's not a lot of time, but
it also shows that these MPs have had plenty of time for review.
For every package that already exists in the archive, please make sure a bug is filed.
That allows us to follow "5.13.1. When and how to do an NMU" in the Debian
Developer's Reference, and the timing within.
For scala, that bug has been open for a while now. Once scala goes in, that has
the following stack to cover:
Reverse dependencies in unstable (! = not in testing)
! source version how depends on
(seed)
- ------------------------ -------------------------- -------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
! latexdraw 3.3.9-1 bin+src Depends:
scala-library (>= 2.11.12); B-D: scala
! plm 2.9.2-1.1 bin+src Depends:
scala, scala-library; B-D: scala
jawn 0.11.1+really0.6.0-1 src B-D: scala
json4s 3.5.1+really3.2.10-1 src B-D: scala
pilon 1.24-4 bin+src Depends:
scala-library; B-D: scala
sbt-launcher-interface 1.0.1-2 bin+src Depends:
scala-library; B-D: scala
sbt-serialization 0.1.2+repack-1 src B-D: scala
scala-parser-combinators 1.0.3-4 src B-D: scala
scala-pickling 0.10.1+repack-2 src B-D: scala
scala-tools-sbinary 0.4.2-on-scala-2.11.0~M5-1 src B-D: scala
scala-xml 1.0.3-4 src B-D: scala
scopt 3.5.0+repack-1 src B-D: scala
(2 not in testing; 10 also in testing; 12 reverse sources)
These shouldn't need binNMUs, right? If they do, we need to coordinate with the
Release Team.
The problem lies in uploading packages that currently don't have a bug open. If
Debian Java wants me as a team member and they approve me, I can go ahead with
team uploads. Otherwise, we'll have to follow the aforementioned NMU policy,
assuming no objections from the maintainers. Same with scala. It's pretty
trivial to simply add the changelog entry and modify the version, but team
uploads are obviously preferred.
If someone in Debian Java has objections with proceeding, please do let me
know. Otherwise, I think I'll upload this in a few days as either an NMU or
team upload, depending on my Salsa approval status. Juan, if you have a
preference here, let me know.
Best regards,
Simon Quigley
