Problem is, this is a policy issue, that is specific from the Java world, so it's not useful to start discussing it in the debian-policy-whatever mailing list), and I need to make it clear that either: - the debian java subcommunity cares about these issues, and is aware that the only viable solution if we want usable packages before 2020 is to address the deeper issues. - or that it doesn't care, in which case these issues need to be addressed outside of Debian (ex: Ubuntu, or another Debian derivative).
