While IINAL I work for a company that has deployed Java applications running under debian for several large Free Software Projects (pocketlinux, etc...) as well as fortune 500 companies. Suns liscensing is basically ignorant and the liability transfer clause probably isnt even legal. I for one would be increadibly happy if we could package and distribute Sun's JDK. Unfortunately I wouldn't want Debian to take the risks associated with distributing the package. (Because of botht the liability risk and the question of violating the functionality clause...)
Take all of this with a grain of salt as IINAL. Then again its quite easy to point your /etc/apt/sources.list to blackdown and fetch the jdks...
Yeah, but with this solution there is no way to include other free java2 apzz and libs in distribution.
