As Helge already wrote, I was apparently wrong here: The german po file which reports errors is not your file. So you are fine here, I think. As I have already mentioned several times: Using podebconf-display-po is a very good tool for translators of debconf templates. If you don't know it, you should definitely try it! > >I quote from above: >> Errors: >> gettext: po/de.po:297:70: invalid multibyte sequence >> po/de.po:299:5: invalid multibyte sequence >> po/de.po:1767:25: invalid multibyte sequence >> msgfmt: found 3 fatal errors >The template bacula_13.0.4-3_de.po has just 80 lines. >I do not understand the meaning of the strings as 297:70. >If this are the line numbers and the column numbers, is it possible that >the issue is within gettext? As written above: that's most likely my fault; it's the wrong file we are talking about here.... >The last line of bacula_13.0.4-3_de.po is an empty line. Can this be an >issue? No, that's no problem. It's the opposite: every (po) file has a newline (an empty line) at the end. Holger -- Sent from /e/ OS on Fairphone3
