Both of these are not solvable. The latter reminds me of a dpkg wishlist I had - preventing installation of unwanted files (eg /usr/share/doc/* on embedded systems). > 2) separate packages: > - package explosion > - harder to get desired translations installed for users I currently lean towards #2 because there was a proposal recentlyish for "translation debs" that would contain per-language & per-package localisation resources that could be auto-selectable by apt based on locale/etc. Dunno if any code has come out if that proposal yet. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
