I think it's OK for you to fix them. Please try *also* fixing the PO files as well as the POT file(s) *by using sed*. I think that neither typo really affect translations. I suggest fixing the POT files in place rather than leaving them generated because that minimizes the risk of accidental runs of "msgmerge" on PO files to fuzzy strings inappropriately.
