But even CDs may have some restrictions. There was a time some CDs had some kind of copy protections, so you couldn’t rip them. And there were legal parties that said this was allright. When you buy a CD, you only own the right to play this CD. And you don’t have a right to copy/rip/multiply it.

So buying a CD or listening to a stream may not be that different.
