Since 2020/2021 the whole 'master' was deprecated in favor of 'main' by most git services and tools, yet 'master' is still the most popular one in Debian.
... precisely in 2020-11-29. Before that the DEP recommended `debian/master`.
As a remainder, that whole `master` deprecation is still controversial (e.g. should we deprecate "server" and "service" as well?).
