* Package name : getquotes Version : 0.2.4 Upstream Contact: MuntasirSZN <muntasir.joypur...@gmail.com> * URL : https://github.com/MuntasirSZN/getquotes * License : MIT Programming Lang: Rust Description : GetQuotes is a simple cli tool to get quotes in your terminal using WikiQuotes, Written In Rust GetQuotes is a powerful command-line tool written in Rust that fetches and displays inspirational quotes directly from Wikiquote. Whether you're looking for motivation, wisdom, or just a quick pick-me-up, GetQuotes has got you covered. This package mainly uses the WikiQuotes API to fetch quotes. It is a simple and easy-to-use tool that works in the terminal. I wanted a similar package, but found all of them unmaintained or not working properly. So I decided to create my own package, which is GetQuotes. I don't know about others, but some are: - Quotes CLI (https://github.com/anilpdv/quotes-cli) - Quotey (https://github.com/galuhsahid/quotey) - Please CLI (https://github.com/TNG/please-cli) There are advantages. First of all, it has a built in sqlite database, and when offline, it can fetch quotes from the database. It also has a feature to fetch quotes from a specific author. Also, its multi threaded and can fetch quotes from multiple authors at the same time. It has some bugs, I will fix them soon. I plan to maintain this package as part of the Debian Rust Maintainers team. I would like to contribute to the team's collective maintenance of Rust packages in Debian, as this aligns well with the package's nature and ensures consistent packaging practices across Rust-related packages. As I am not yet a Debian Developer, I will need a sponsor for initial package uploads. I am actively looking for sponsorship and am committed to learning Debian packaging practices and policies. I am open to co-maintenance arrangements within the Rust team's framework. This ensures the package remains well-maintained even when individual maintainers are temporarily unavailable.
