Perhaps the description of the package should be changed. The support for VLAN has been supported by ifupdown since 2012 (more than 12 years ago). The vlan package remained to support some edge cases and old-style vlans (vlan0001). It also ships vconfig, which is these days a wrapper for iproute2. -- Cheers, Andrej
