Amen. I know one installation with a five digit number of Debian systems that uses a hacked installer with the Kernel from CentOS because that one just works. I have talked to the guy who did that operation (one of the most competent IT people I know) and he said nearly the same as Russ said. >If this is going to be the solution, it has to be WAY easier to do.
