This is probably a good approach. If that doesn't work, might it be possible to make it impossible to _report_ a bug against general, but still retain the ability to _reassign_ a bug to general ? OTOH we don't want to do anything which will simply shift the problem onto the maintainers of specific packages which are commonly guessed by the underinformed. Ian.
