4.2.3 is already in unstable. Have a look at this page at the list of package versions on the left: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/linux The kernel image packages are called "linux-image-<something>". The packages called "kernel-image-<something>" are used by the debian installer but not for full installations. If you specifically want 3.18, you can download it from snapshot.debian.org. http://snapshot.debian.org/package/linux/ James
