Of course, it's quite possible to add those functions - h2xs and C::Scan will help there :-) I've looked at that, but decided either someone more experienced should do that, or else I'd be interested in a more general solution (similar to the POSIX module, but covering Linux, or Unix98, or 86open once it's there, or something like that), and that's definitely nothing for the short term.
