ooch, you're fully right. I've completely forgotten this one. one more "don't do anything when you're tired, sick and overbusy" for me... the only reference I've ever found on this is the one pointed by the Policy, §3.6 "Virtual packages": http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/virtual-package-names-list.txt The current packages that provide ups-monitor are listed here: http://packages.debian.org/testing/virtual/ups-monitor Among these, only upsd (and nut-2.2.2-7 now) doesn't provide this ups-monitor symlink. > I'm CC'ing -devel (and dropping -release via a Bcc) to see if there's > somebody around who knows more about this. > > If nobody is, my take is that this nut upload is gratuitously breaking a > traditional interface, and I don't think that should be done just to > please insserv. Peter, what's your take on this? insserv is part of the release goal and I'm not sure that it will be fixed in time. on the other hand, as Adeodato noted, nut is now breaking a generic interface finally, I don't have much time currently, so feel free to NMU when the point is clarified.
